Background

David B. Simpson is a shareholder of Wolflick, Simpson, Khachaturian & Bouayad.

David received his B.A. in Economics (summa cum laude, phi beta kappa) from UCLA in 1979, and his J.D. from UCLA in 1982. After clerking on the Hillside Strangler defense, spending four years at a prominent downtown firm, and four more at a management labor law practice, David and co-founder Greg Wolflick opened Wolflick, Simpson, Khachaturian & Bouayad in 1990. David's 30+ years career has emphasized employment litigation (employment discrimination, wage/hour class actions, trade secrets, employee benefits, unfair competition, wrongful termination, etc.), and personnel strategies and advice.

David has successfully tried cases to juries and judges in state and federal courts throughout California and other Western States, and has represented clients in the California courts of appeal, the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Labor Law and Litigations sections of the Bar, and writes and speaks occasionally on various labor and employment law topics.

David also is both an Adjunct Professor at Glendale University College of Law, teaching captive audiences of law students the nuances and strategies of civil litigation and employment law, as well as a trained mediator, conducting private and court-ordered mediations principally in the areas of employment, disability rights, employee benefits, and civil rights. His mediation website is: www.simpsonadr.com.

David also practices with, and is a partner in, the Workplace Rights Law Group, LLP.

David also practices out of the firm’s Santa Clarita satellite office.

David is married, has three 20-something children, enjoys writing, rejoicing or grieving over UCLA basketball, and is an avid NASCAR fan. David recently competed in the 2012 World Series of Poker, Seniors No Limit Hold ‘em Championship, and threatens completion of his first nonfiction book, Detecting Lies in Legal Proceedings, an attorney's guide to human lie detection.
